On the 29th of October 2002 a court case involving Scientology
started in Copenhagen. Scientology is being accused of slander against
the East German film producer Walter Heynowski and the Danish film
producer Jørgen Pedersen, who both demand 250.000 euro in damages
from the cult.
It all started when the cult in it's magazine 'Frihed' [Freedom] accused
Jørgen Pedersen and the journalist Tom Heineman of having close
connections with the DDR's Stasi through Walter Heynowski, an East
German film producer. This was done in a special edition of 'Frihed'
following a DR [Danmarks Radio] program, 'Temaaften', in June 1999
in which a row of critical programs about Scientology were the subjects.
One of them was "Religion or Money machine", which was produced
by Jørgen Pedersen.
The journalist Tom Heineman, settled with the cult. The settlement is
an amount of money, what was written about him in 'Frihed' should
be deleted from the online edition and a full written apology in the
same rag.
The court case is scheduled to last for 9 days.

Copenhagen: Scientology in court for slander.

[Note: The
Scientology®
organization has at best estimate approximately
45,000 to 50,000 followers world wide -- contrary to the 8 million figure
that the organization has been claiming for the past few years or so.
While that number continues to drop (thanks in part to the Internet) few
of the remaining followers are even aware of the unending series of police
raids, indictments, and prison terms their leaders and fellow cultists are
subjected to routinely. Few are allowed to know about their organization's
criminal history, or its current racketeering activities. Even fewer of
the cult's remaining followers are privy to their messiah's written
policies which dictates the criminal behavior that keeps getting their
organization raided (see Xenu.NET for
suitable references of Scientology policy) Scientology management
is the problem, not the thousands of honest believers who are good,
honest citizens; themselves victims of Scientology - flr]
The name "Narconon"® is trademarked to the Scientology organization through one of their many front groups. The name "Scientology"® is also trademarked to the "Church" of Scientology.
