Animal Liberation Front Attacks Monkey Supplier’s Website

Sabotage Done In Protest of Primates Being Sold to Notorious Animal Testing Lab HLS.

(Philadelphia) The Animal Liberation Front (ALF) has claimed responsibility for hacking into the web site of the company that supplies the primates used in the product testing research at the notorious animal testing laboratory Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC), an international pressure group campaigning to close done the scandalous laboratory HLS, received an anonymous communiqué announcing the ‘hactitivst’ break-in.

The communiqué states the ALF penetrated the server of the Primate Products and completely changed the content of the web page allowing the viewer to read about the horrific suffering that the primates sold to HLS endure. The “improved” website contains several graphic photos of primates butchered in research laboratories and even contains photos of actual primates from inside HLS that were taken during undercover investigations.

According to the communiqué and website “This is the first of what will hopefully be a long series of electronic attacks on networked computers owned by HLS or their customers/investors… Break all contact with HLS or you will be financially destroyed. There is no room for compromise while 500 animals are tortured to death every day.”

HLS, based in the UK with two labs and an additional lab located in East Millstone NJ, is one of the world’s biggest animal testing labs. HLS tests agrochemical and pharmaceutical products on puppies, cats, monkeys, rabbits, and a number of other animals killing roughly 180,000 a year. Activists internationally have committed themselves to shutting down HLS after 5 undercover investigations have shown workers punching beagle puppies in the face, dissecting a live monkey, transplanting a frozen pig’s heart into a baboon, falsifying scientific data, and violating procedures for animal welfare.

According to the SHAC spokesperson, “SHAC is a legal campaign and the ALF’s internet contribution was unsolicited, but enthusiastically welcomed. HLS has been warned for the 500 animals they murder everyday there is 500 different strategies the animal rights movement will use to shut them down. I expect to see more creative and hard-hitting tactics like this in the future.”
