Greetings, Ms. Cohn
It's a bit strange and I'm not sure whether the Institute for Creation
Research cult has given me a serious threat [or not] however my ISP
forwarded to me a complaint which claims to be from the ICR. There's
nothing copyrighted by the ICR cult on any of my web sites however they're
looking at a form I have up on one of my web sites:
http://www.skeptictank.org/flist026.htm
This form -- and many others -- provide checkboxes which viewers may
select and then submit to my home computers. I wrote software which
extracts the file requests from the forms, searches for and collects
the requested documents from my home computers, and then sends the
requested text documents to the individuals who filled out the forms.
The ICR cult hasn't filed a DMCA complaint and I don't even have the
cult's original e-mail to my ISP yet. When I do get it, however, I'll
request a DMCA complaint to see if I can figure out what it is the cult
is complaining about yet I don't operate a commercial web site and the
cult must surely know that my web site is an educational as well as a
consumer advocacy web site, not a commercial one.
And in fact there's nothing even remotely copyrighted by the IRC cult on
any of my web sites so I can't imagine why they contacted my ISP.
I thought I'd drop a note off to your offices to see if you can direct
me to URLs which cover what I should do beyond requesting that the cult
forward to me a DMCA complaint so that I may file counter to it.
Thanks in advance for any assistance and information you may be able
to offer.
