Twenty years ago this week, Gerry Armstrong left the cult.
Less than a year later, he was interviewed on 20/20 in a 20+ minute segment regarding his involvement with the cult and his knowledge of the life of L. Ron Hubbard.
Eighteen years ago, Time Magazine published this article in their issue dated January 31, 1983. This is what was going on with scn and Gerry Armstrong.
I remember getting a Founding Sea Org Member certificate some time in the early 80's. Accompanying that certificate, was an 8 x 10 print of Hubbard the Ridiculous Green Cowboy. I'm mentioning this for Gerry's benefit, as he should have received his 8 x 10 copy, as well as a certificate for being a Founding Sea org member. (But if not, at least he has this Time magazine article.)
On the second image/page 55--Jocelyn Armstrong was the first CO SMI (Commanding Officer, Scientology Missions International.) Heber is Gerry's ex-step-father-in-law. (Gerry was married inside the organization to Terri Gilham who was the daughter of Yvonne Gilham, who married Heber Jentzsch.)
On the third image/page 56--looks like these Sea Org members two regges from ASHO.
Michael Flynn (fourth image/page 57) represented Gerry from early 1982, and Gerry worked for him in Boston in 1985 and 1986.
