E-mail from notorious band of unsalted nuts

25 Jul 2001

On KFI AM 640 Talk Radio one day I got to listen to Bill Handle talking about a little band of unsalted nutters parading around out in the desert along the Mexican border trying to "lend a hand," so-to-speak, by keeping Mexican "wet backs" from sneaking into the United States.

Historically I find that such individuals are white supremists, Aryan Nations, KKK, or what have you, opposing both "wet backing" and legal immigration upon racial groups, holding up their Christian gods as some kind of justification for their views. I seem to recall that these nutters didn't have much of a problem with legal immigration though I think they wanted to reduce the numbers -- I couldn't take notes so I don't recall well.

Well I sent the nutters a _polite_ request for information about their motivations after checking out their web site and finding just a few web pages strewn with Christian cross pictures. The polite message didn't yield a response so I sent the traditional inflamatory one since I find it almost always yields a response (which often reduces the nutter to his primaries and prompts them to make admissions they normally wouldn't do.)

Actually in retrospect that's not so inflamatory and the questions are certainly not rhetorical. Any way, the response, formatted a bit so that it'll fit without wrapping:

A "thank-you" goes out to Glenn for offering a public comment though I can't decide whether it's offered in jest or is an accurate summation of what he and his little band is all about.

I think it's almost certain that his initial comments in answer to my question were offered in jest since he apparently felt my questions to be threatening in some way. But the rhetorical questions he follows with are disturbing, to say the least, and I have to hope that if he's actually running around in the desert along the Mexican border, he's not doing so armed.

During the same segment on KFI AM 640 Talk Radio, Bill Handle covered a number of illegal Mexicans who had crossed the United States and wound up taking up residence in Canada where they immediately receive financial benefits and housing benefits and there was a comment made by Bill Handle suggesting that illegal Mexicans should do likewise. I have to wonder why Glenn and his little band of wannabes doesn't _help_ "wet backs" pass through since it's futile to try to stop them.

Oh: There was not one word mentioned, as I recall, of what the law enforcement authiorities and immigration authorities think of these nuts roaming around out there "protecting America" from th dred Mexican wet back. Apparently the border areas are public property owned by the State so nobody can stop the nutters for tresspassing.
