Men [of God] at work in Nebraska

USA Today reports (3/15/01) that the ever-defensive Omaha Catholic
Archdiocese wants six sexual abuse lawsuits against the church
dismissed on grounds that the plaintiffs--former altar boys molested
by longtime pedophile priest Daniel Herek in the 1980s--failed to
file complaints by age 25, in accordance with the state's statute
of limitations.
The lawsuits depict Herek's case as yet another in the series of
hundreds where church leaders knew of the "father's"
crimes and ignored them, in this instance spanning a period from
1980 to 1985.
Apparently, the church's mythical "good name" was more
important to these "holy men" than the physical and
mental well-being of the children in their care.
Situation normal.
