The problem is that most "Squirrels" don't use the technology -- they
use some slightly-to-extremely peverted/changed/altered form of it,
which usually doesn't work as well if at all. (I have developed the bad
habit of using qualifiers -- I have never heard of a "offshoot" working,
period. But I'm not omniscent.)

Well, again, I've not heard of a Squirrel group having anything of use
-- just a lot of stuff about mediums, & crystals, & channeling, & such
stuff that may be interesting, but doesn't have quite the same
long-range goals. It is unfortunate that there does not seem to be a
"R&D" group associated with the Church, but I suppose that makes sure
that a would-be "prophet" doesn't change stuff for just his/her own
glory. Though at least E-meters have evolved into more effective
things. <shrug>
