so what you're telling us now is that a scientologist needs permission before going off and joining a group? (do you need permission to go wee-wee too?)

can someone name one other 'religion' which makes you get permission before joining a group? i'm not talking forbidding membership in certain groups, but requiring permission to join a group. (i.e. it makes sense to refuse to let a christian join death angels on wheels, but it doesn't make sense to require you to ask your minister before joining the boy scouts.)
