That's simply not true.

Just exactly how many churches can *you* name that wiretapped the FBI, or made bomb threats to get an opponent in trouble with the law?

Just exactly how many church-run publishing houses can *you* name that secretly purchased their own book, from bookstores included on the "bestseller" survey, in the hopes of inflating their book's bestseller status?

By my standards, they're pretty sleazy. You owe it to yourself to start asking non-church-members about your church. You may not like the answers, and the church may have rebuttals, but it's outright dumb to take *that* church's word about itself. -- Don D.C.Lindsay Carnegie Mellon Computer Science
