Since some of the materials which describe the $cientology cult could be
considered to be copywritten materials, I have censored myself and The
Skeptic Tank by deleting any and all possible text files which describes
the cult's hidden mythologies. I have elected to quote just a bit of the
questionable text according to the "Fair Use" legal findings afforded to
those who report. - Fredric L. Rice, The Skeptic Tank, 09/Sep/95

I was particularly impressed by the video evidence of one of the
adherents trying to exercise thought control over an ashtray. The
ashtray actually raised itself in the air under his command. Pity the
effectiveness of this demonstration of mind control was somewhat
undermined by the fact that the adherent was HOLDING the ashtray the
whole time.
The scientologists were invited to respond to the charges laid at their
door by the program but refused. Stupid clams. Their refusal just added
to the sense of menace and secrecy surrounding the cult. At the
beginning of the program, the narrator started off by saying "this is
the program that the church of Scientology did not want you to see".
This is a reference to the Co$ attempts to secure an injuction against
the program makers.
It was wonderful to see people interviewed whom I have heard so much
about - Vaughn Young, Stacey Young, Russell Miller, Jon Atack. These
people are heroes as far as I am concerned, as well as those relatives
and ex-Scientologists who had the courage to allow themselves to be
interviewed without any attempts to conceal their identities. Anyone who
has read the affidavits and other written evidence of "Fair Game" on ars
over the last few months will understand just how courageous these
people are. They have my profound respect.
This year I have seen more publicity in the UK media about this evil
cult than at any time since the late 60s when a British Cabinet Minister
condemned the cult as an evil organisation. The lid is being removed
from the can of worms.
I rarely use the word "evil" to describe anyone or anything but I attach
the word to Scientology with no hesitation whatsoever. And now, thanks
to "The Big Story", that evil has been exposed to millions of UK
viewers.
