Since some of the materials which describe the $cientology cult could be
considered to be copywritten materials, I have censored myself and The
Skeptic Tank by deleting any and all possible text files which describes
the cult's hidden mythologies. I have elected to quote just a bit of the
questionable text according to the "Fair Use" legal findings afforded to
those who report. - Fredric L. Rice, The Skeptic Tank, 09/Sep/95

I just watched the Watchman Fellowship videotape of the cult
conference. An ex OTVI spoke about her trip up the bridge of
Scientology. She said when she finished OTIII she had to attest that
all her Body Thetans[tm] were gone, and the emeter agreed.
BUT! when she started taking OTIV she found out that was to get rid
of MORE BT's! These BT's had been under the influence of drugs or
alcohol in the past and were thus harder to get rid of, so much so that a
mere OTII couldn't do it. So these were sort of BT's with DT's (I stole
this). Then when she finished OTIV she attested again that all her BT's
were gone, and the emeter floated, so on to OTV. On OTV she found out
AGAIN that she had still MORE BT's. This time these BT's were dormant or
almost comatose, and it took the power of an OTIV to wake them up and
send them on their way.
Now isn't this illegal? To sell a course under the claim that it will
rid you of all your BT's when the church KNOWS this isn't true, that is
fraud or something, IMHO. For instance, if I say I can rid you of all
your irrational fear of cats, and you pay me $12,500 to do this, what
would happen if after the course you ran across a black cat and were
still so fearful that you had to run home? You come to me and say "You
contracted with me to get rid of my irrational fear of cats. I am still
afraid of this black cat!" So I say "Well, black cats are an extra
course and an extra $12,500." Haven't I committed a fraud here?
Just wondering.
