I noticed now that I had forgotten to give the particulars if someone
wanted to obtain a paper copy of the transcript. One should ask for:
SALLY JESSY RAPHAEL Transcript #741
Air Date: July 9, 1991
Scientology Ruined My Life (Title)
A repost of the former post follows:
When I recently read the transcript of the Sally Jesse Raphael show
regarding Scientology, I became aware of a number of other
businesses/charities that operate as fronts for Scientology
recruiting/fund raising.
I thought I would summarize the ones mentioned in the transcript for the
benefit of those who did not read it but might be interested in the
information.
Narcanon: a group that is supposed to deal with issues of drug abuse.
Criminon: a group that is supposed to eliminate crime.
Sterling Management Systems: a group that recruits doctors,
veterinarians, dentists, and other professionals to Scientology.
The transcript reads, "Its purpose is to recruit professionals
into Scientology, because professionals have more money than the
people on the street. That is true. That is absolutely true."
Way-to-Happiness Foundation: a group that is supposed to foster good public
relations for Scientology.
Applied Scholastics: a group which teaches Hubbard's educational methods.
Citizens Commission on Human Rights: a group with the alledged goal of
eliminating psychiatry and installing Scientology in its place.
Concerned Businessman's Association of America: a group to promote Hubbard's
business techniques.
Health Med: a group supposed to promote Hubbard's medical breakthroughs
such as eliminating toxins from the body.
Diet for a Poisoned Planet: a Scientology based book advertised through
tele-marketing. No specifics about this book are in the transcript.
Association for Better Living and Education: the umbrella group which
operates a number of the groups listed above.
I also recommend that anyone who hasn't read the transcript take the time
to do so. It contains a number of touching personal stories of
ex-Scientologist and people with family members in Scientology.
