Date: Wed, 25 Oct 1995 23:30:54 GMT Organization: a.r.s. Central Committee Lines: 32 Message-ID: <46mh5s$> NNTP-Posting-Host: X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 1.0.82 Finally got around to looking at some of the propaganda on, and found this in one of the articles from FREEDOM magazine, at the rather ironic URL <>: "I guess golfing partners couldn't even help [Gates]," read part of one posting. Another posting anonymously accused the President of being involved in an alleged "bag job" with Gates, and another falsely claimed that Microsoft was considering acquiring the Roman Catholic Church. In each case, as the postings were anonymous, Microsoft was unable to take action against the defamation. You know, I saw that post about Microsoft acquiring the Roman Catholic Church. It was on, as I recall, having been posted originally to misc.invest.stocks, and upon further investigation, I discover that the original poster was *not* anonymous. So, either the author of the Freedom article was deliberately lying to the magazine's readers, or the author was unable to evaluate data and recognise humour... (The message-id was, and the original article is still available at DejaNews, if anyone's interested; it's a hilarious piece.) -- Jeff Lee (KoX/SP2) SCA: Lord Godfrey de Shipbrook <<< Geek Code (v3.1) and PGP public key at >>> "The only thing that helps me maintain my slender grip on reality is the friendship I share with my collection of singing potatoes."
