Subject: My posts & CofS'ists attempted ban of me
I just thought a few here would like to know that my stream of recent posts
were from when I was on the Scientologist Fellowship board on AOL (America
Online). As I posted these messages there, for some reason I became very
unpopular with church of Scientologists, and they criticized me for not
being a "real" Scientologist and called me names like "SP" and "Basher" and
told me I was disruptive to the group.
There was a campaign against me to get me kicked off AOL. One does this by
complaining to AOL about TOS violations (terms of service.) 3 TOS's and
you're out. They picked out pedantic stuff to complain to me about (that
were out of context) and managed to convince AOL to give me 3 separate TOS
violations which was enough to get me kicked out of AOL ... lose my account.
But I protested each one to AOL and in EVERY CASE, AOL gave me real justice
and rescinded the TOS "violations" after hearing the whole story in context.
The church of Scientologists were being just frivolous. Their favorite
complaint was that I was "off topic." But their attempt to shut me up
failed.
The board had been in existence many months but after my short 1 month stint
there (with no success at getting me kicked off AOL), apparently they felt
that the board did more damage to the Church of Scientology's PR than was
worth keeping it going. (Though I felt I was GREAT PR for Scientology
itself. Many critics saw for the first time a Scientologist who they felt
practiced reason and they complimented me on this.)
I had no evil intent to ruin the board ... they just cowered and hid from my
questioning like I've discovered loyal CofS'ists do. I had simply discovered
a good communication line directly to Scientologists and hoped to keep them
ACCURATELY informed. But I guess it was too much for them.
(The other story I hear from some is that AOL got tired of the Church of
Scientologists bickering to them with frivolous complaints and so took the
board down. But Church of Scientologist "Lt. Daughter" took credit for the
board going down as a pro-active move by loyal Scientologists.)
The only board left on AOL is just a critics' board called "The Unvarnished
Truth about Scientology." But my communications didn't do much good there
because they were directed at church of Scientologists who wouldn't read
that board anyway.
This A.C.T. board is the only major LIVE potential communication line to
Church of Scientologists. It is my hopes we can convince them to come over
here and take an objective peek without worrying they're commiting an overt
by looking. Does anybody know a way to reach out and make this newsgroup
better known ... especially to Church of Scientologists?
It's sad that anytime the Church of Scientologists create an open public
communication line to them, they eventually run and hide from the
communication by desolving the line or going covert like ScientologyOnline
recently decided.
No doubt CofS's Grade 0 is out.
Thought you'd like to know,
Safe, an informed, authentic NON-CofS Scientologist
P.S. I use to sign all my messages on AOL with "an informed, authentic
Scientologist" to add clarity that not all Scientologists think alike. Later
it evolved with the added "NON-CofS" Scientologist part when I decided I
could no long support the Church of Scientology in good concience.
