Are Scientologists ashamed of their Church?

Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to questions if they contained copoyrighted materials. After a very short while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg Churilov" cultist was ejected from askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.

Subject: Question...

Anonymous asked this question on 4/19/2000:

Are Scientologists ashamed of their Church?

Greg Churilov gave this lie on 4/19/2000:

Of course not.

Anonymous then asked this follow-up question on 4/22/2000:

Hmm. Then why does the "Church" of Scientology hide behind official lies in its claim that L. Ron Hubbard was a "war hero," having been awarded 21 medals, when actually he received only 4? Why won't the "Church" admit he was a bigamist? Why won't the "Church" admit that the only way it was able to acquire the property in Clearwater was by infiltrating through a front company with no obvious links to Scientology because [] itself has always suffered from the worst kind of adverse publicity, DESERVEDLY?

Why are all your responses so cut and dry, and why do you invalidate everyone else's opinion? Do you believe enemies of the "Church" of Scientology are to be disposed of "quietly and without sorrow," like Hubbard said?

I feel sorry for you. Your "Church" has milked you for all the money you have, returned you nothing, and will drop you like a used condom when you run out of money and can no longer afford $cientology, Inc.'s services.

I'd tell you not to bother answering this post, but I bet you won't be able to resist.

When you decide to leave $cientology, visit www.xenu.net first, to pick up some pointers.

Here's a hint: take your pc folder with you when you leave, and don't sign anything.

ARC, KoX

Greg Churilov, after his solid debunking, gave this insane response on 4/23/2000:

I am sorry that your views and experience of Scientology are so hateful and negative. I suggest that you choose a different path, since it is obvious Scientology is not for you. I however am happy to be who I am and believe as I believe. And we happen to live in a Country that supports the First Ammendment.

So if it is not much to ask, please stop harrasing me. best,

Anonymous then rated this answer a 1, saying:

I knew you wouldn't be able to resist. Isn't that what you've learned: "Never defend -- always attack?"

Apparently, you don't like the fact that I am protected by the same laws which protect your rights, but that's too bad.

The truth about $cientology isn't something most $cientologists are capable of facing because it violates "Source" -- what L. Ron Hubbard taught them was true and rig [] attack."

I'm sorry you're one of those people.

My follow-up question was an honest one, and you failed to respond to it, preferring instead to attack me for having asked it, exactly as you have been taught by the "Church" of Scientology, based on the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard.

You fail, ma'am.

You've already demonstrated the tactics of the "Church" of Scientology in response to criticism better than I ever could have.

Thanks.
