Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copoyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Anonymous asked this question on 4/18/2000:
I have seen web sites which claim L. Ron Hubbard said terrible things
about women, blacks, and Catholics. Is it true, for example, that he
said the lot of woman is to be fornicated and it is okay if they are
raped? Why would he say such a thing? I asked a Scientologist about
this and he said it was a lie, but the site that has the quote offers
proof. What should I conclude? If L. Ron Hubbard did say these things,
it would certainly affect my opinion of his church.
Greg Churilov gave this lie on 4/18/2000:
It is easy to character-assasinate any celebrity. It is easy to claim
someone said the most vicious things, especially when the accused has
passed away and can't defend himself. I could start the same rumors
about ANY religious or political leader, and without having to prove
anything I could spread poison around.
No, Mr.Hubbard did NOT do any of the above. He also did not kill
babies, eat human flesh, or throw stones at kittr drive an Edsel,
or write bad checks.
Either you are very naiive and have been listening to bigots and
hate-mongers, or you ARE a bigot yourself, masquerading as an
innocent. ALL valid truthful information on L.Ron Hubbard is at
http://www.lronhubbard.org If you are NOT one of the sick bastards
spreading lies and trash on the Net, then a) post your name instead
of "Anonymous" and b) Give me an email address I can write to and
I can answer your questions in detail.
Anonymous asked this follow-up question on 4/18/2000:
I don't see why you should sound so angry, especially at me. If
there are people spreading lies, then I would like to know about
that. You can send your answer to me at: Fergus75@excite.com
Thank You,
Greg Churilov took his medication and then gave this response on
4/19/2000:
Dear Robert:
I admire and appreciate your courteous and upfront response.
In response to "why am I angry?" I am angry because I am tired
of bigots spreading lies abot my religion. And unfortunately a lot of
people believe the lies instead of taking action like you have and
asking further questions.
L.Ron Hubbard was a humanitarian and a philosopher.
He was also a mariner, a traveler, a scientist and a writer. You can
learn about his life at http://lronhubbard.org He stood against Navy
Intelligence when they wanted to re-enlist him and put his Dianetics
research to use in covert operations in 1950.
He stood against Organized Psychiatry (the APA) in 1948 and many times
since to denounce the barbarity or their "treatments" such as
electric shock, drugs and lobotomies.
He stood against the Rhodesian Government by drafting a new
constitution that would give blacks the vote in Rhodesia, and was
thrown out of Rhodesia in 1966 because of it.
During the course of his lifetime, L.Ron Hubbard made many enemies.
But he made millions of friends as well by standing up for principles
that many of us believe important.
Having developed a philosophy that applied correctly markedly improves
conditions for Man, he devoted the rest of his life to organizing and
administering an organization that would safeguard and make available
that philosophical know-how.
THAT is what Scientology is all about. Scientology is successful.
Anything successful makes waves.
In the late 1970s there was a heavy power struggle within the
organization, and a faction of corrupt individuals were expelled from
the Church. They wanted to gain control of the organization for the
old tired motives of power and money.
They failed.
In the 1980's, these same individuals entered into an unholy pact with
the enemies of Scientology, with a simple goal: Overthrow the current
Church management, shut down the organizations, and pass all management
onto the disgruntled apostates.
The plan was thwarted by a vigilant and alert Scientology Network.
Under David Miscavage, the cult's once-secret as well as publically
reviewable documents underwent massive modification, removing much of
what Hubbard dreamed up while totally stoned out of his head. Much of
what Miscavage "squirreled" in the jargon of the cult was
altered to remove massively embarrassing things that Hubbard said or
wrote - flr]
Scientology gained stability and legitimacy in 1993 by receiving full
Religious Recognition from the US Supreme Court, and full tax exemption
from the IRS. This weakened our enemy's position.
These people believe they have a LOT to gain by attacking Scientology.
If all of this cult's crooks had been imprisoned back in 1977 for life
terms, and if Hubbard could have been found and imprisoned at the same
time, along with David Miscavage, Keneth Moxon, and the other ringleaders,
Lisa McPherson and many others would still be living today. She would
have gained her life - flr]
When the Internet came along in the mid 1990s, these troubled
individuals took it upon themselves to use this as a tool for
a malagning and slander campaign. They spread vicious, obscene lies
about the Organization, the Founder, and the individual members of
our Church. They hide behind Free Speech. They seek to cause harm.
THAT is what makes me angry.
Hubbard's character can be found in his many many writings, in his
devoted and committed life's work, and in his attitude to his wife
Mary Sue and his children. I have personally worked with people who
saw him interact with his family in East Grinstead, England in the
1960s and in the USA later on. They all spoke of a giving father and
a loving husband.
And what's also informative is that this cultist is unthinkingly
repeating what other cultists had told him, ignoring utterly the court
records that are easily available all over the Internet - flr]
There are numerous articles by Mr. Hubbard about prenatal care,
childbirth precautions, how to treat your children, etc. There are
courses he developed for Marriage Counseling. His attitude towards
women permeates all these writings, and is a compassionate, respectful
and noble attitude.
L.Ron Hubbard's position towards african americans should be obvious
from his work in Rhodesia before fighting Apartheid became
"fashionable". And from his having appointed mmembers of
all races into executive positions in his organization. He considered
human beings to be spiritual beings, and the shape and color of the
body to be inconsequential.
Even more disgusting, the Scientology crooks demanded that they had
educated 1.5 million African children in response to the entirely
accurate review of the criminal organization as published by Time
Magazine. It was discovered by an individual in Australia who had
contacted the African government directly that the claim was an absolute
lie. The African government said, in part, "I'm afriad that's
just another fabrication" on the part of the cult.
This cult harbors very racist attitudes and they form the basis in
Hubbard's contemporary views - flr]
L.Ron Hubbard's attitude toward the Catholic Church can be gleaned
from his Intefaith efforts, the foundation of the Religious Freedom
Crusade and the official praise letters Mr. Hubbard received from the
Pope's Envoy for his drug rehabilitation works (see http://www.narconon.org)
Amusingly, Hubbard stole a vehicle from Levey when Hubbard fled from the
law, eventually surfacing in England - flr]
It is much more work to disprove a lie than to spread a nasty rumor,
but I hope all this has helped get some of the truth accross.
The best way that you can HONESTLY learn about Scientology is by
visiting your local Scientology center. Please feel free to write
again anytime. Spirit (Greg Churilov)

Subject: L. Ron Hubbard
[Well, one could hardly consider Hubbard to be a "celebrity." He
was certainly a con man and a fraud as is well documented in the numerous
texts seized in various Federal raids through the years. And, contrary to
what this cultist want to believe, his behavior was well known while he
was alive. Indeed, the crook often ran from the law and once even had a
number of Federal, local, and State officers raid one of the crook's many
lectures so that he could be served. So no, the crook had plenty of time
to "defend himself" while he was alive. He elected to run from
the law instead -- for obvious reasons - flr]
[And that's a lie. It was in what Hubbard called his "affirmations"
that he said that women were to be fornicated. But Hubbard has serious
sexual dysfunctions to go along with his many mental problems - flr]
[And in fact none of the cult's web sites contain any of the many wonderful
documents that were seized by Federal officers which give the true picture
of what Hubbard and his criminal cult were all about - flr]
Robert W. Ferguson, Jr.
[And of course this cultist can't exactly point to any of these lies he
wants to pretend are "spread" about his "religion." As
for believing the truth about Hubbard, that's merely a matter of reviewing
Hubbard's own writings - flr]
[<laughing> Oh yes, he was a real Humanist. <rofl!> And in
fact he was a con man and a screaming, bark-raving lunatic that formed a
criminal empire with the sole purpose of rooking as many rubes out of every
last buck he could lay his hands on. As for "philosopher," does
being a pathological liar count? - flr]
[Most madmen are rather paranoid when it comes to their own insanity.
And in fact Hubbard's insane hatred and fear of psychology was due to the
fact that he begged for mental help twice and was turned down. And when he
came up with his own insane notions about psychology, the mental health
industry ignored his insane claims totally. That pissed off the already
unstable messiah - flr]
[These lies must be what the ringleaders are trying to make their remaining
followers believe. In fact Hubbard and his fellow ringleaders were caught
in numerous felonies and the crooks got raided by the Feds in the 1970's,
resulting in Hubbard running out on the lam and 11 of these crooks winding
up in prison. Hubbard and many of his fellow ringleaders were named as
unindicted co-conspirators and the mad Hubbard himself would have been sent
to prison if the Law could have laid their hands on him - flr]
Greg is either insanely paranoid else he's been listening to his own
cult leaders' bizarre rants. The only "enemies" of this
criminal cult was the world's police. Hubbard liked to give himself a
lot of pretend enemies because it made him feel important. Hubbard
liked to plkay pretend that entire industries -- which include the
mental health industry -- was all in a conspiracy to "get" L.
Ron Hubbard. In fact Hubbard was totally ignored by all by the law
enforcement agencies of the world - flr]
[The cultist is lying. But he's probably unthinkingly mouthing off what
his cult leaders have been programming him with. In fact the cult's
management was successfully taken over by David Miscavage after Hubbard
died from drug overdose. Miscavage forged a single document which
put him in charge of the criminal empire after Hubbard died. Miscavage
sent everyone who knew about the forgery to the cult's in-house
prison -- the so-called "Rehabilitation Project Force" work
camp at what's known as "Happy Value" near Gilman Hot Springs
in Southern California.
[And that's a lie, too. Scientology's "enemies" are the
law enforcement agencies of the world, Democratic governments, and the
individuals who wish to make the cult pay for its crimes. This crininal
organization has never -- and will never -- "gain stability and
legitimacy" as this cultist so desperately desires since it is at
core a criminal origanization - flr]
[If it helps save one person's life, it's worth it. Saving people from
getting killed, brainwashed, and rooked by these crooks is rather
a lot to gain, yes.
[And in fact none of these cultists are ever able to actually point out
anything that people say about the organization that's any kind of lie.
If there was slander involved anywhere, the criminal organization would
at least be able to point toward the relevant statements and provide
the truth which debunks them. In fact what one finds all over the
Internet is backed up with court documents, Navy documents, documents
seized in numerous raids against the cult in numerous countries - flr[
[Doubtful. What makes cult followers upset is having to hear the truth
about their messiah with feet of clay. Greg's investment of money and
emotion makes it rather difficult, I'm sure, to accept the truth - flr]
[Another lie. The available court documentation show that Hubbard was
married to two women at the same time, had routinely beat his wives,
hated his homosexual son, and set his wife Mary Sue Hubbard up to take
the fall for the "Snow White" felony operations.
[The cultist doesn't mention that Hubbard claimed that most women
inflict abortions on themselves and that, according to his writings in
a body of texts called Hubbard's "Affirmations," he believes
that Woman's lot in life was "to be fornicated." The fact
that Hubbard was an adulterer, drove his own son to suicide, and sent
his own wife to fall on the Snow White rap speaks volumes that this
cultist doesn't - flr]
[And that's a lie. Hubbard complained that China had too many unwashed
"Chinks" in it and Hubbard also demanded that "African
American gentlement" were too unintelligent to register on a
wheatstone bridge -- his insane "e-meter" device. Hubbard
was a man of his decade and held the racist viewpoint that was common of
his day, writing his racist viewpoints into his works, dying with them
still held as unthinking ideals.
[And another lie. Hubbard's view of Christianity is that it was an
"implant" and that Christianity started when "some
madman discovered some R6." Hubbard was a Satanist and practices
sex magic with Anton Levey.
[This cultist only repeats what his leaders program him with - flr]
