Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copoyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Anonymous asked this question on 4/18/2000:
I've heard conflicting reports as to L. Ron Hubbard's past. Was he
a war hero? Was he a nuclear scientist? I heard that in his youth
that he was an Indiana Jones types - is that true?
Greg Churilov refused to answer this question on 4/18/2000:
All biographical data on Mr. Hubbard is available at
http://www.lronhubbard.org He was a decorated war hero (Lieutenant,
Jr. Grde, US Navy).
He attended courses on Nuclear Science at George Washington University.
With his father in the Navy, young Hubbard did get to travel a lot
and see lots of Asia and the Far East.
There is also a LOT of misinformation about Hubbard on defamatory
sites, run by people whose purpose is to sla The truth is in documents
and photographs of L.Ron Hubbard's life, all a matter of public
record.

Subject: L. Ron Hubbard's past
[What the cultist doesn't mention is that the cult claims he got awarded
either 22 or 23 medals. In fact he got three or four -- medals which were
awarded to everyone. Hubbard's real war record -- including Navy
records -- can be reviewed at
http://www.ronthewarhero.org/ I suspect tahat this cultist is aware
of Hubbard's record and is rather embarrassed that his cult masters have
to lie about it - flr]
[And that's utter nonsense. He attended a non-accredited course that was
incidentally held on the George Washington University Campus. He did not,
as this cultist was told to believe, "attend" the University.
Additionally, the one physics course that Hubbard took resulted in an F
grade -- because Hubbard was totally and completely uneducated and had some
rather profoundly (tyhough amusingly) wrong notions about even the simplest
of physics - flr]
[And that's wrong, too. Hubbard never managed to make it to Asia or this
"Far East" which this cultist seems to think is different than
Asia. His war record includes the "sinking" of magnetic rock
formations and firing on Mexico's Coronodos island, among other rather
stupid acts. Hubbard didn't exactly declare war on Mexico, by the way. No,
shooting up Mexico's Coronodo islands was a stupid accident - flr]
[Amusingly, Hubbard's war record is publically available. The
Scientology cult's leaders, however, make sure that their rubes never
get a chance to see it - flr]
