Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copoyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Anonymous asked this question on 4/27/2000:
From what I have been able to read on the Web and elsewhere, there appears
to be some elaborate system of ranks used in Scientology that I can't figure
out. What do OT III, NOTs 34, SP 5 and so forth mean? What is the
"Tone Scale", and why did L. Ron Hubbard write (in "Science
of Survival"):
"The sudden and abrupt deletion of all individuals occupying the lower
bands of the tone scale from the social order would result in an almost
instant rise in cultural tone and would interrupt the dwindling spiral
into which any society may have entered."
Does "deletion" mean what I think it means?
Greg Churilov gave this lie on 4/28/2000:
Those aren't ranks, but simply courses available at the local
Scientology Center. The Tone Scale is a Scale of emotion and behaviour
that ranges from 0.0 (Death) all the way up to 40.0 (Serenity of Being).
At the lower bands of the Tone Scale we find people like Charles Manson,
sters, rapists, hateful fanatics and so on.
In regards to that "deletion" thing, it means "if they
were not there".
This can be *intentionally misinterpreted* to mean "let's wipe them
all out!" by someone who a) knows nothing of the philosophy and b) has
a malicious intent. L.Ron Hubbard is speaking here hypothetically. He
is conveying that Society's ills and problems do stem in the majority
from this lower band. It is clear he does NOT mean "let's kill them
all!!" by the fact that he devoted many years of his life at developing
a good system of criminal reform. Society struggles with this daily,
and its solution is jails, rehabilitation, death sentences, prison camps,
etc. None of these are all that effective.
How is it that so many crooks, murderes, and criminals wind up in the
top positions of the Scientology cult? The cult's mad messiah was named
as one of the many unindicted co-conspirators in the 1970 arrests and
indictments. He managed to escape prison by going on the lam, hiding out
on a ranch in Northern California where he finally died of what is most
likely a drug overdose - flr]

about this criminal empire may be found at
Operation Clambake and FACTNet.

Subject: Ranks in Scientology?
[What this cultist doesn't mention is that anyone who doesn't join the
cult is automatically at "tone 1.1" which, according to Hubbard,
should be "discarded quietly and without sorrow." Hubbard uses
the "tone scale" to get his followers to hate anyone who speaks
the truth about the criminal activities and the racketeering of his
organization. And as an aside, Charles Manson was a Scientologist - flr]
[And that's a profound lie. Hubbard's plan was to "disposed of them
quietly and without sorrow." He also created a "rundown"
he called "R2-45" which he said any Scientologist may administer.
R2-45 refers to shooting someone twice with a .45 caliber bullet - flr]
[What the cultist doesn't mention is that Scientology is a criminal
organization that has numerous felony indictments and prison terms to
its name, including a whopping 68 outstanding prison terms in Madrid,
Spain. And of those 68, one of them is the cult's mock "International
President" Heber Jentzsch.
