Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Subject: Cult Awareness Network
Anonymous asked this question on 5/2/2000:
A number of years back, I contacted the Cult Awareness network on behalf
of a friend's family who were touched by a family tragedy (their daughter still
has never been found) and boy was I surprised when I logged onto their site
yesterday- it's more like a Cult Advertising Network! I notice some of the
experts here are using it as a referral link and I'm sure they wouldn't if they
knew what these people are up to; what happened here? Is it the same
group?
Greg Churilov gave this response on 5/3/2000:
The former members of the Cult Awareness Network were bigots and
criminals. Their president was arrested for soliciting an undercover male
police officer for sexual favors including being tied up and forced to
preform oral sex.
The leader of this motley gang, Cynthia Kisser ( a former topless
dancer) is on the lamb from the law.
CAN was instrumental in the WACO tragedy, present at the scene and
actively inciting FBI agents to use force. They have also been known for
kidnappings and torture of young women suspected of being "cult
members".
The Cult Awareness Network went bankrupt, and was bought out by a
group of Christian and Interfaith ministers who currently endeavor hard
at setting the record straight on all the harmful lies this group told.
The Cult Awarness Network was sued out of existance and the civil trial
resulted in CAN going bankrupt -- and then the Scientology cult bought
not only all of CANs files, but the Scientology crooks bought the name
"Cult Awareness Network."
The new Cult Awareness Network isn't -- as this insane cultist is lying
about -- a group of Christians. It's run by the SCientology crime syndicate.
When anyone calls into the new CAN, they're speaking straight into the ears
of America's most destructive criminal cult ever created.
The audacity of these cultists to blatantly lie when these issues are
widely and broadly covered in newspaper articles and court findings
widely available on the Internet is just astounding. Who do these insane
cultists think they're trying to fool? - flr]
I am happy to say the current leadership has had some friendly
meetings with Executives from the Church of Scientology, and are
apparently representing it in a true light.

Waco? Ummm...yeah, right. Sorry, my dealings with them were different
enough to see through this from a hundred yards. It looks like CAN has
become a pack of wolves pretending to be sheep dogs.

[And that's one mother fucking of a whopping lie! The Scientology cult
infiltraited the Cult Awareness Network because CAN was successful at
helping the family members and loved ones learn about Scientology and
helping cultists that got suckered into the cult to get out. The Scientology
cult pulled a scam which got CAN in trouble on charges of kidnapping --
even though the supposed "kidnapped" later denied wanting
anytthing to do with the cult's plot.
[And in fact the crooks run the new CAN - flr]
