Scientology expert on
Scientology hostility and hatred

Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg Churilov" cultist was ejected from askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.

Subject: Scientology hostility and hatred

FredricRice asked this question on 5/3/2000:

I've asked quite a few questions of the Scientology experts here at AskMe.COM. Out of the good answers I've received from desertphile and honorarykid, I've also received a _lot_ hatred from the Scientologists who are inside of the organization.

What's interesting is that asking Scientologists questions about Scientology results in such hatred, anger, and resentment. But what's more, rather than answer the questions, the Scientologists have attacked me personally, claiming I'm a pedophile and have had sex with dogs. And this is from Scientology's representitive spokespeople, no less.

Is there a policy or something that dictates these hate-filled responses that I've been getting from the Scientologists?

honorarykid gave this response on 5/4/2000:

You better believe there are formal policies.

Hubbard wrote about Dead Agenting in 1974:

HANDLING HOSTILE CONTACTS/DEAD AGENTING

It is a not too infrequent part of the job of a PRO to encounter hostile contacts. To handle such, one has to be fast and effective at dead agenting. Every successful PRO knows how to dead agent and wins. As the tech on dead agenting and handling hostile contacts is scattered in various P/Ls and write-ups, it is issued collectively now as policy for use. Learn these techniques well. Use them with success!

"Never let entheta pass unhandled. Prevention is better than cure. Handle fast, handle with live communication, handle with documentation, use PR technology including tone scale evaluation. Liaise with your senior and the other divisions/bureaux. Maintain ethics presence and see the matter through to a completion including the discrediting of the attacker."

------------------------------

Notice that last line. "Discredit the attacker." Now compare that with LarryBergen's accusations that all critical experts are liars and hateful bigots. His behaviors on AskMe.com are right on policy.

Another policy from Hubbard, written in 1969

------------------------------

"HUBBARD COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE Saint Hill Manor, East Grinstead, Sussex HCO POLICY LETTER OF 16 FEBRUARY, 1969 Cen O Con Guardians Office PROs Intelligence

Confidential
ENEMY NAMES

By carefully watching press to see who is called upon by the press for counter-opinions, one can work one's way easily toward the centre of a hostile network. The press is fed anti materials. Although reporters do not disclose their sources, their stories often do.

It is wise to challenge such adverse commentators as routine procedures. A call by a local "housewives committee", etc. as to why they are hostile to human rights or in favor of psychiatric butchery and getting them in the press with it and with no mention of us is good PRO.

PRO uses the hostile commentator to guide his own counter attacks. The effect at the least is to shut the hostile people up."

This is Scientology scripture. What a lovely "church," eh?

FredricRice rated this answer a 5.

I've never seen this one! I had thought I'd seen it all but this one's lovely, yeah.

Thanks. I'll add this to my web site that covers the truth about Scientology though I'll have to redact it considerably to make sure that it's fare use.

Since I was asking questions about Scientology, the Scientologists on this forum apparently considered me one of these "hostile contacts." It must mean that questions are not allowed in Scientology.

And I see that this policy was distributed among the Guardian's Office / Office of Special Affairs. That makes me wonder if the Scientologists that present themselves as experts here are GO/OSA.
