Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg Churilov" cultist was ejected from askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.

Anonymous asked this question on 5/4/2000:

I see a couple of books I'm thinking of buying written by L. Ron Hubbard called "All about radiation" and then, amusingly enough, another one that's "extended." (Presumably the original book wasn't really "all about radiation" since he needed another book.)

Has anyone read it? I know that Hubbard took one physics course and that he failed it with an F grade, but is his book worth reading?

alerma gave this response on 5/4/2000:

I have a copy of "ALL ABOUT RADIATION, BY A NUCLEAR PHYSICIST AND A MEDICAL DOCTOR"

by "L Ron Hubbard, one of America's first Nuclear Physicists"

Page 49: "Nevertheless, some very recent work by L Ron Hubbard and the Hubbard Scientology organization, has indiated that a simple combination of vitamins in unusual doses can be of value. Alleviation of the remote effects and increased tolerance to radiation have been claimed as a result.."

Page 73: "How is it that gamma rays go through walls but don;t go through bodies?"

"I can fortunately tell you what is happenning when a body gets hurt by atomic radiation. It RESISTS the rays! The wall doesnt resist the rays and the body does"

page 121 Dianazene

"Nicotini acid runs out, abolishes, sunburns-- "

The formular for Dianazine

Nicotinic Acid 200 mg Ferrous Gulconate 10 grains B1

"Scientologists believe that most human problems can be traced to lingering spirits of an extraterrestrial people massacred by their ruler, Xenu, over 75 million years ago. These spirits attach themselves by "clusters" to individuals in the contemporary world, causing spiritual harm and negatively influencing the lives of their hosts ".
