Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Subject: L. Ron Hubbard's married life
FredricRice asked this question on 5/4/2000:
How many did was L. Ron Hubbard married? Do you know?
Bunnyann gave this response on 5/4/2000:
I have checked my information against Jon Atack's A Piece of Blue Sky.
Atack notes that the cult usually does not cite Hubbard's first two
marriages. The first was to Margaret Louise Grub, in Elkton, MD, on April
13, 1933. On August 10, 1946, Hubbard then married Sara Northrup, I
believe in Chestertown, MD. Sara was the woman Hubbard had met in
Parson's black magic group. There was one minor problem with this
marriage. Hubbard was still married to his first wife. He was not a
bigamist.
Sara's life with Hubbard was no happier than that of his first wife.
Eventually, she too had had enough. Sara had been Hubbard's personal
auditor, but she eventually was living apart from him and tring to obbtain
psychiatric treatment for him.
Finally, in 1952, Hubbard married for the third and final time. He married
Mary Sue Whipp. In later years she was to spend time in jail, while
Hubbard disavowed any knowledge of her activities.

This web page (and The Skeptic Tank) is in no way connected with
nor part of the Scientology crime syndicate. To review the crime syndicate's
absurdly idiotic web pages, check out www.scientology.org or any one of the
many secret front groups the cult attempts to hide behind.
