Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Subject: A religion with a marketing plan? Huh?
Anonymous asked this question on 5/4/2000:
I see in the Church of Scientology's trademaks that they have a publication
called "Central Office of LRH 558 07/Aug/78 Urgent Marketing Program,"
registry TXU2-662-397.
Has anyone read this? How does a religion have a marketing program?
honorarykid gave this response on 5/4/2000:
I have not read this particular document.
But I have observed that Scientology's main function is to market itself
to get new members. New members are called "bodies in the shop."
Proselytizing activities are called "planetary dissemination."
Before joining Scientology, we are, at best, a piece of raw meat. To
Scientologists, raw meat humans are just poor brainwashed, confused,
and stupid. We don't know that we need Scientology to save us and show
us the one and only path to toadl freedom.
Although, to successfully recruit us wogs, Scientologists routinely conceal
their elitist, exclusive attitudes. But the promise of becoming one of the
elite, can be quite alluring and intoxicating. People who need group
reinforcement and group approval, and who react positively when they
get it, are very susceptible to being recruited.
