Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Subject: L. Ron Hubbard Unindicted Co-Conspirator
FredricRice asked this question on 5/5/2000:
Since L. Ron Hubbard was named as one of the many unindicted
co-conspirators, does anybody know how he managed to escape justice? I've
read that he went on the lam and hid on a ranch in Northern California
(where he died) but surely the Feds could have tracked him down if they
want to.
Does anybody know if they let him off for a reason? Do you know of any
court documents somewhere on the Internet that cover why they let him go?
Thanks.
honorarykid gave this response on 5/5/2000:
Sorry, Fredric, but I don't know the answer as to why Hubbard got off the
hook. He was named an unindicted co-conspirator when his wife, Mary
Sue went to prison, as was Kendrick Moxon. Perhaps because Hubbard
so carefully avoided holding any official titles or legal corporate officer
positions within Scientology, was the reason prosecutors decided not to
charge him. Do you have any ideas about that?
I disagree with your assumption that Hubbard would have been easy to
find. One of the scary truths about Scientology is that they pointedly
infiltrate organizations and governments. Their spys would likely have
warned Hubbard if a raid was imminent, and he could have easily moved
to a new location.
Earlier, there was a question about Red Box drills in Scientology, which
can give you a better sense of how rabidly protective Scientology is with
it's secrets, and how they train and practice with cloak and dagger stuff.
