Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to
questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short
while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and
started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I
removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's
also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg
Churilov" cultist was ejected from
askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.
Larrybergen asked this question on 5/3/2000:
TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC:
THE QUESTION BELOW IS PART OF A SERIES OF
QUESTIONS AIMED AT DISCREDITING MY RELIGION.
IT INTENDS TO PROMOTE THE FALSE IMPRESSION THAT
SCIENTOLOGY IS A SOME SORT OF COOKY UFO CULT.
[lies deleted]
TheTruth gave this response on 5/6/2000:
I do not see what message you are referring to,
but I do know a bit about the scientology
business, having dealth with it extensively ith
the courts of the United States and Canada. In
my opinion, which is echoed by scores of county
Judges in the US, Scientology is easily one of
the most destructive and evil cults harming
people these days. LA Superior Court Judge Paul
G. Breckenridge, Jr. stated it was "The most
evil, corrupt, and foul" of all the cults:
"It is of course, rather ironic that the person
who authorized G.O. 121669 should complain about
invasion of privacy. The practice of culling
supposedly confidential "P.C. folders or files"
to obtain information for purposes of
intimidation and or harassment is repugnant was
no respector of anyone's civil rights,
particularly that of privacy. Plaintiff Mary Sue
Hubbard's cause of action for conversion must
fail for the same reason as plaintiff Church.
The documents were all together in Omar
Garrison's possession. There was no way the
defendant could make any distinction."
Judge Latey [found] that Scientology practices
were grossly harmful to children:
"What then is the Scientology factor and what
weight should be attached to it? "Horrendous."
"Sinister." "A lot of rotten apples in it."
Those words are not mine. They are the father's
own words describing practices of the Cult and
what it does to people inside it and outside it.
"A lot of villains in it." "Dreadful things have
been done in the name of Scientology." Those
words are not mine. They are the words of the
father's counsel."
...
"This has been a very lengthy judgement mainly
because of many verbatim recitals of
Scientology's own documents whose authenticity
is not disputed. I have taken that course
deliberately. The "Church" resorts to lies and
deceit whenever it thinks it will profit it to
do so. It will, I think find it less easy to
gull and dupe others in the face of its own
documents and, so far as its practices methods
and objectives are concerned, there will be less
scope to counter this decision about these
children on any factual basis."
One should research Scientology before making
any conclusions. These Judges did (and scores
more!), and concluded it was "evil."
