Notice: Fredric Rice may have removed segments of the replies given to questions if they contained copyrighted materials. After a very short while, Scientology "experts" refused to answer questions and started cut-and-pasting copyrighted cult propaganda. Additionally I removed URLs in some of the replies, and left them in others. And it's also important to note that eventually the unfortunate "Greg Churilov" cultist was ejected from askme.com for his typical Scientological behavior.

FredricRice asked this question on 5/5/2000:

Since L. Ron Hubbard was named as one of the many unindicted co-conspirators, does anybody know how he managed to escape justice? I've read that he went on the lam and hid on a ranch in Northern California (where he died) but surely the Feds could have tracked him down if they want to.

Does anybody know if they let him off for a reason? Do you know of any court documents somewhere on the Internet that cover why they let him go?

Thanks.

lrfarny gave this response on 5/9/2000:

For a very good reason, Fred: L. Ron Hubbard was never an unindicted co-conspirator. But of course, why confuse you with any facts. You do so well with your own fixed ideas.

If you don't know the answer to a question, the thing to do is not lie to complete strangers who ask them. That is exceptionally rude and disrespectful!

In fact in the United States there are Constitutional provisals which specifically state that the accused have the right to face their accusors. Since the Federal authorities couldn't find him, they couldn't indict or convict him in abstencia -- as he was convicted in Canada, by the way, since Canada has no such provisal in their Constitution.

Another expert -- a real expert -- has sent me the salient information already on this. Scientology has policies which specifically call for the maintenance of safe houses and the ranch where he died was such a safe house.

Please try to refrain from answering questions you don't know the answers to.
