FredricRice asked this question on 7/25/2000:
I got to watch Ursula C. arive in Clearwater, Florida, to give a
presentation on the Scientology cult. (The video can be
viewed at http://www.xenutv.com/trust/arrival.ram or
http://www.xenutv.com/trust/dslarrival.ram by the way, and
.rm versions of those are available for download.)
The behavior of the cult followers is _extremely_ insane and
I'm curious what experts on Scientology has to say about
whether these people were insane going in or whether it
happend to them while they were inside.
And if I may, I'd like to web your answers.
Thanks!

First, you may web any of my responses. You always have
my permission to do so.
Second, I have found that most scientologists entered the
cult truly believing they were there to better themselves
spiritually, and help others. Most scientologists are
extremely intelligent, creative, and motivated towards
good.
However, once in the perversion begins. You are
encouraged, and if staff, virtually forbidden to question,
seek information about scientology from other sources, or
to talk about your "case." It is no wonder people become
whacko....
Yes, as long as scientology looks only to Source, and
souce was a drunken, drug popping madman, his adherents
will continue to act in this manner.
