Public relations -- Don't they care

Question answered by bunnyann in Scientology

FredricRice asked this question on 7/25/2000:

Another question that's mostly for current Scientologists however I'd like to web everyone's answers.

After viewing the Scientology cult's insane attacks against Ursula in Clearwater -- screaming Nazi and other absolutely insane nonsense -- the public address system in the airport informed travelers that what they just witnessed was the Scientology cult.

I'm curious whether Scientologists think that such exposure is beneficial to their cult's revenues and continued existance. Surely the cult's management wouldn't be so stupid as to assume that such public exposures of cult followerss' insanity helps their bank accounts.

Thanks in advance for your insights into this.

Unfortunately, the scinos belive this display is necessary. After all, Source (Hubbard) believed in attack. If you criticize scientology, you are a criminal, thus you can be deprived of property, liberty and whatever else by any scientologist and you will not be held accountable for your actions -- at least not by the church.

What is worse is that they truly become so deluded as to belive their religious freedom is being deprived. They are not being denied freedom of religion. It is actually quite simple. Germany has a constitution which prohibits totaliarian groups. It views scientology as such a group. They recognize it for what it is, a for profit cult seeking non-profit status and recognition as a legitimate religion. The German's recognize that; the American Congress does not.

Thanks. What's interesting is that it didn't work for the mad messiah when he was alive. He fled from every government he docked his boat at ad spent much of his life on the lam from one law enforcement agency to the next.

Hubbard seemed willing to run away and hiding to protect himself yet at the same time he orders his cult followers to do the insane -- which just makes it worse for them.

Talk about insane!
