remiel asked this question on 8/21/2000:

Freedom_of_religion recently asked this question

"I used Scientology to quit smoking after 22 years. I did it by using a drug-withdrawal program developed by L. Ron Hubbard. What are some ways anyone else here has used Scientology to improve their life?"

formerscientologist gave this response on 8/21/2000:

"Good for you!

I reward upstat behavior in my child and penalize the downstat behavior. I handle her originations.

I was raised in Scientology, and that has helped me stay clear of drugs.

I've learned to base my decisions on the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics, so I didn't become a smoker despite its acceptability in Scientology. I took up nutrition and exercise instead.

Although I took the communication course (TR's)and got grade 0 auditing not so much to improve communication skills as it was to eventually obtain the state of clear and OT, I have received compliments on my ability to communicate. Even though I'm still the quiet sort, I do originate more than I did before the auditing. Of course I was also raised in a family with good communication skills, and my grandmother, a teacher, taught me good grammar--that helped too"

Freedom_of_religion gave this question one star, the lowest possible mark. Does anyone see anywhere where formerscientologist was being unhelpful in any way?

honorarykid gave this response on 8/21/2000:

I thought FormerScientologist's answer was polite, germane, and helpful.

But (newly volunteered expert)Freedom_of_Religion is never going to rate a critic's answers as anything but the lowest rating.

I think he (or she) hates all critics. And why not? FoR's guru, L. Ron Hubbard, taught that all critics of Scientology are suppressive criminals who only want to destroy everything. Hubbard taught that Scientologists should attack and destroy suppressives.

Freedom_of_Religion is only being true to Hubbard's fascist and paranoid, yet sacred and religious, delusions.
