By the time the crooks _tell_ their followers that Xenu and Body
Thetans et al. compose the core basis of Scientology, they've been
with the organization so long, have invested so much emotion and
money with the cult, and have such a vested interest, they swallow
the bait-and-switch without question.
If the rubes learn about Xenu before such an investment, only the
demonstrably insane would buy into it. After a lengthy period of
time of "TRs" and "auditing" when the rube has been made pliant
enough to swallow the Xenu bait-and-switch, and has invested
all their money, time, and emotion, then they're able to swallow
the new variation on the never-ending, Ponzi-like scam. And if
the crooks caused the rube to lose his family, house, friends, and
everything else, the rube wills wallow the Xenu scam without a
moments hesitation since he or she has nothing left to loose.
Yes, once they're told by their followers, they believe it utterly.
When the good guys are busy innoculating the rubes using
picket signs, the crooks used to tell their followers that there's no
such thing as Xenu or Body Thetans. The crooks told their rubes
that it was all a lie made by up "suppressives."
After the truth about the core basis of Scientology -- murdered
invisible space alien infestation -- was widely published (thanks in
large part to Helena Kobrin and SCAMIZDAT) the crooks had
to at least admit to their rubes that Xenu has something to do with
"OT3." The crooks were telling their rubes that it was all a lie
and yet the crooks sued everyone who mentioned this alleged lie
for "copyright infringement," which idiotically confirmed the truth
about the scam.
