Opinion on mentioning Xenu on the protest lines
Question answered by escapee in Scientology

I'm interested in people's opinions on whether mentioning Lord
Xenu while on the protest lines is a good idea or a bad idea.
People picketing the cult have different motives but there does
seem to be a desire to help people inside get out. Mentioning
Xenu -- the contents of OT3 -- could help them or further
entrench follower's committment to the cult.
I'm curious whether people think it's a good idea or a bad idea.
escapee gave this response on 9/7/2000:
It is harmless. First rule of thumb...do no harm. I think it is a
good idea to mention it, because in the COS they have the
idea that it is dangerous to mention things about OT III and
Xenu, that people can be harmed by it. And, of course, that
is just part of the control mechanism, to keep the secret and
mystery on the line and the money flowing in.
It is all in how one attacks something...one doesn't want to
look so weird in attacking that it turns off the onlookers. It
has to make sense to both the people looking on and the
people within.
Just degrading doesn't do the trick.
