Why do so many Scientologists seem unable to differentiate between "Hate" and "Honest difference of opinion"?

Well?
formerscientologist gave this response on 9/5/2000:
As a former Scientologist, I am going to differ from Fredic's
opinion.
It's true that TR 0 and auditing can induce an altered state
of mind and thereby make a person more susceptible to
propaganda and suggestions, but this is not always the case.
I can think of two reasons for their lack of distinction.
1. Very often the difference of opinion does appear hostile,
and to a Scientologist that opinion may seem like an outright
lie. Scientologists are taught to discard bad news as rumor.
They are discouraged from looking at informative
anti-Scientology websites. Scientologists are uninformed
about the sinister side of Scientology. They don't see the
bad things in Scientology until they start to see enough bad
things first hand, and until that time anything contrary to the
good of Scientology will be viewed as vicious rumors spread
by hostile people.
2. Propaganda. Scientologists are continually exposed to
success stories and are taught about SP's who fear the
betterment of mankind. They are taught that critics are
criminals. This kind of indoctrination creates bias. I can't say
why people fail to see propaganda for what it is, but this is
not only true of Scientologists. People have bought into the
women's liberation movement, the sexual revolution, and the
current propaganda about how cutting back on welfare and
disability benefits are really empowerment programs. I'm
straying off the subject here--if only people would stop to
examine the fruit of such seeds. Scientologists have been
made to feel better because of their auditing. It is easy for
them to believe that Scientology is all good and true and that
anyone critical of Scientology is antagonistic and hostile.
