Biased Experts Masquerading
Question answered by remiel in Scientology
blank24 asked this question on 9/1/2000:
In the US, don't citizens have a right to talk freely, assemble
peacefully and practice their religion freely and not be subjected
to enforced false accusative rantings from avowed hate-filled
critics with destructive motives that in general act like the KKK
or any other hate-filled group?
remiel gave this response on 9/1/2000:
In the usual course of matters, I might disdain from
answering such an obviously leading question as yours, but I
think I'll have a crack at this one.
In the US, citizens have a right to free assembly. In the US,
citizens have a right to believe in any religion that takes their
fancy. In the US, citizens have the right to comment on or
criticize a group they see as doing wrong. In the US, citizens
have the right to assemble in order to protest about groups
they see as damaging or destructive. In the US, freedom of
speech cuts both ways.
By the way, which critics are 'avowed hate-filled'? I don't
know of any critics who have taken a vow of hate.
