Intelligent Question
Question answered by honorarykid in Scientology
Mr_Rogers asked this question on 9/18/2000:
You know, this is kind of related to the hate-monger's questions.
I wonder how many trillions of dollars psychiatry has sucked out
of the civilization of the world for nothing except delivery of
destroyed individual lives and countrys?
honorarykid gave this response on 9/19/2000:
It's very important for people who might be inclined toward
an interest in Scientology to fully understand what Mr.
Rogers is implying here.
Scientology hates psychiatry in a totalistic, irrational way,
and to an absolutist degree. Individual Scientologists
inculcated with these beliefs and sent out into the world to
try and do PR damage to an entire profession, just as Mr.
Rogers is trying to do here, by asking such a loaded question.
The Scientologists carry forward this hatred and paranoia
about pyschiatry. They even extend their hatred to the pure
science of human psychology. They are conditioned to
become hostile toward the medical profession as a whole,
because it mostly views man as an organism, rather than as
a spirit.
So this hatred even extends in some subtle ways to more
standard medical fields.
When Scientologists get sick, they are not living organisms
fighting off living virii or bacteriological infections, they are
abberrated Thetans who have a restimulated bank. Chemicals
which kill virii and bacteria are never the answer, Scientology
processing is the answer.
Hubbard got in trouble long ago for claiming that most
disease was psychosomatic, and that Scientology auditing
could cure most diseases. Even after he was slapped down
by the FDA, and the E-meter forced by governmental
mandate (in the U.S.) to carry a warning that auditing was
not a valid medical practice, Hubbard continued to
surrepticiously inculcate the belief that auditing could cure
cancer and other serious medical conditions. But he always
had a good PR shore story ready if anyone ever complained
or investigated.
The CoS even has a front group which is (amazingly) called
the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) whose
purpose is dedicated to maligning the the medical profession
of psychiatry and the scientific study of human psychology,
with the stated intent of completely eradicating these
professions from the face of the earth.
It is very common within Scientology for individual
Scientologists to be coerced by their fellow members to STOP
TAKING PRESCRIBED MEDICINES!
A recently blown, long-time Scientologist named Tory
Bazazian described how for years, she suffered epileptic
seizures that were completely unnecessary, and easily
controllable, simply because her fellow Scientologists had
persuaded her that taking her seizure medicines was a back
thing to do.
And of course, Lisa McPherson died because Scientologists
were deathly afraid that taking her to competant medical
care would have resulted in her being held in an psychiatric
ward.
It's a shame that Scientology indoctrination continues to
create groundless, dangerous, and debilitating paranoia in it's
members.
