Secret Scriptures
Question answered by formerscientologist in Scientology
Michael_Crichton asked this question on 9/16/2000:
Several of the newer pro-Church of Scientology experts here
have said thast they really are interested in open and honest
communications with critics of that Church. With that in mind, I
am reposting some older questions. These are mainly intended
for those pro-CoS experts, but of course anyone can answer.
Question 7: Are the “OT Materials” and other “Secret
Scriptures” on the Internet real? I’m not interested in weather
they’re “Taken out of context” or not, only in their authenticity.
If they’re real, then why do Scientology PR flacks claim that
they're fake? If they're fake, then why did the Church of
Scientology sue over their posting, claiming that they’re real?
While we're at it, why is the Church of Scientology so secretive
about the “Secret Scriptures”?
formerscientologist gave this response on 9/17/2000:
I haven't checked the new Scientologists' OT levels, but it is
possible that they haven't done the upper levels and don't
know.
OT III is real. However, from what I've seen, the technology
is not included.
I can't vouch for OT VIII, but I believe it is Jesse Prince who
states that Hubbard didn't write the OT VIII materials, and
that several different versions of OT VIII have been released
since his death.
Most Scientologists are not privy to this kind of information.
