documented clear?
Question answered by escapee in Scientology

I know that one thing that the CoS are berated for is the fact
that they claim to have provable science behind their work and
yet produce no research or documentable results. I was
wondering if anyone here from the Freezone is, or has evidence
of, a clear as described in Dianetics. Please remember before
answering that at various points, it is claimed that a Clear has,
amongst other things, heightened IQ, a perfect memory and
increased analytical skills.
escapee gave this response on 9/23/2000:
There are some things that were stated early on that did
not prove out to be true. In particular, the memory. Clears
were not known to have eidetic recall as Hubbard first
expected them to have.
In the 19th ACC, the Clearing ACC (Advanced Clinical
Course) of 1958, where half of us went clear and the other
half did not (experimental) those who attested to clear were
not permitted to purchase a clear bracelet and be accepted
as clear unless they could pass a personality test in the top
1/3rd and an IQ test over 135.
Later, after LRH decided that the clears he personally
checked out in 1958 weren't clear after all, and instituted
another direction in clearing, the testing dropped out as far
as I know. I never heard of John MacMasters, the first clear
on the new procedure, having to do tests and be approved.
Apparently the "experimental auditing" was over.

you say that clears did not turn out to have perfect memory
'as hubbard first expected them to have'. Do you mean by this
that he changed his mind? If so, is there a retraction, and why
is the claim still published in copies of Dianetics?
Sorry if I come across as interrogative.
