DC Picket Report - 15 Nov 2001 - Still NO OTs in $cientology

I had the pleasure of meeting ex-DC-Scientologist Chip Gallo face to face for the first time. We picketed from aproximately 1:30 to 2:30 then spent 30 minutes socializing.

Scientology's keeps track of it's performance by keeping statistics on everything. The Reporting week ends at 2 PM on Thursday. So a picket that spans from 1:30 { one reporting week ] thru 2PM [ end of week ] and then continues into the next reporting week.... - any time past 2 PM... would allow one picket to count as a picket affecting two different weeks.

Also it was a lovely day...

In this brief 1 hour picket I recall at least 3 car horns honking at my sign that said:

WARNING
Entering GREEDY
CULT ZONE
< Scientology <
XENU.NET

I brought the
"Scientology should NOT
have CHARITABLE status"
sign out for Chip Gallo.

They were not pleased to see yet another ex-DC Scientologist with a picket sign

I handed out Rod Kellers custom picket entheta flyers..

A few people remarked how surprised they were that such an abomination as Scientology should have charitable status...

While I called out "It's worse than you think" to entice the aprantly already informed public into taking a flyer

Two people thanked me for being there....one said it sure takes guts to picket "them" as he thumbed a finger in Scientology's direction with disdain

A little old lady walked up to me and asked for a picket sign.. So I handed her mine and she carried it up and back in front of the entrance for a while.

I wondered for an instant if she will turn out to be a member of the "Anarchist Workers party..." Though I think she was more likely a potential associate of the "theres more to Ida Camburn than Meets the eye" Social club, picketing assembly and knitting circle

That made 3 people picketing.

Sylvia Stanard DSA DC, lumbered out and fiddled with a digital camera festooned with scotch tape, that apparantly had been dropped a few times. I asked Sylvia if she was going to be HERE for the "fireworks" on my birthday party.

She said Here? pointing down at ground...

I said yeah, here, between 3AM and 6 AM there will be fireworks up there { pointing up ).

She said, up there? pointing up...

I said yeah.

She asked me "is that a Threat?"

I said, "it is a promise**

Chip expressed concern that i might be "hensoned" riverside style... I just said the opportunity was too good to pass up..... I mean, wouldn't it be great if sylvia send's this up in her daily report to OSA INT..... The telexes start flying..... my only question is how long to wait before I hit the post button to post this message.

**N.B, saturday at 3AM to 6AM is the expected biggist lifetime or two display of the Leonids Meteor shower - with the earth passing through 3 different major debris streams that each created spectacular fireworks displays...in the 18th and 17th centuries. 800 meteorites per hour are expected....
