Scientology's Reed Slatkin

Scientology removing Reed Slatkin from their spampages

3 May 2001

"Charlotte L. Kates" <ckates@eden.rutgers.edu

I just accessed this page using the google cache address, which is: http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:myreligion.scientologist.net/nieshareneetrout/myself.htm

Reed Slatkin is just as there as ever...

"Around my 11th grade year in high school, I started having some major difficulties with friends and my parents. Actually, I'd always had difficulties my whole life, but the problems weren't getting better, they were just changing and escalating and my happiness overall was plummeting downward pretty fast. My mother told my uncle, Reed Slatkin, a long time Scientologist, about my constant upsets with people and my various problems that weren't handling, and he seemed to feel it was best if I got some Scientology counseling."

And he's just as gone from the official page at http://myreligion.scientologist.net/nieshareneetrout/myself.htm

So, whatever nefariousness is occurring at Int wrt Reed Slatkin, it's *not* happening at Google. The cached version is there as of 4:56 PM EST, 5/03.

There is a scio spampage in the name of "Niesha Renee' Trout". Her "About myself" section at http://myreligion.scientologist.net/nieshareneetrout/myself.htm currently has this sentence in it: "My mother told my uncle about my constant upsets with people and my various problems that weren't handling, and he seemed to feel it was best if I got some Scientology counseling."

According to Google's cache at http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:myreligion.scientologist.net/nieshareneetrout/myself.htm+%22Reed+Slatkin%22&hl=en , this _used_ to read: "My mother told my uncle, Reed Slatkin, a long time Scientologist, about my constant upsets with people and my various problems that weren't handling, and he seemed to feel it was best if I got some Scientology counseling." I wonder if Niesha knows about this? It looks like the Church might be distancing itself from Reed.

I just tried to access the Google cache again, and it has no record of it. Can anyone verify that this page has changed?

It's gone, dude. That's very fast. Google caches do not ordinarily disappear with that degree of speed.

I think some conclusions may be drawn about this. Am I over-hasty?

It could entirely be that the cult is now removing material from Google without the formality of a DMCA or other legal request. How this might be done is left as an exercise to the reader.
