Clocking in on the "Ha ha! Screw you!" bus we have a group of atheists
who have "taken back" a park on Mount Solidad here in San Diego. Taken
back from who? Those evil Christians who's only desire is nothing less
than theocracy in America.

Well kind of.

For the past 73 years the Christanic death cult has taken over the park
for their yearly fertility festival of Isis rituals (which Christanics
still mistakenly call 'Easter.' <snort>) Way back when the State of
California accidentally installed a 43 foot Christanic cross (my guess
is they forgot to read the Constitution of the United States and didn't
know it was illegal to do so.)

It turns out that a guy decided to see if the city would deny all
others access to the park on the day of this particular ritual and so
filed the papers to "own" the public park for the day in question.
Imagine the "problem" faced by the clerk... for the past 73 years one
group of cultists have taken over the park and no one else has ever
filed for that day before. Should she ignore the fact that the guy was
the first to file the request and just wait for the official request
form from the Christanic cult and risk a lawsuit when the dates of
delivery prove she violated the rules or should she just grant the
permit according to the rules and risk the "Ha ha!" factor from the evil
atheists and the "how could you?!" factor from the evil cultists?

The guy was granted the permit and found himself with nothing to do
with it. He contacted a local atheists group and gave the permit to
them. They in turn contacted Christanic churches in their area,
invited Islamic and Jewish groups, and generally opened the park up to
anyone who wanted to come to the services which the atheists grroup was
going to offer that day.

Several Christanic death cult churches immediately called the group of
atheists "devils." <chuckle> The cultists got even more upset and
resentful when they learned that two of the Christian churches which
were explicitly invited to the services AND WHICH ACCEPTED were a
Christian church specifically for homosexual men and woman and a brand
of Christian church which allow women in their priesthood (er, that
would be priestesshood) among other things in keeping with a more
progressive, pro-female stand.

It should be interesting to see how the rules get changed to keep this
from happening again. Of course then the city will be in violation of
Constitutional seperation of cult from State if they try to impliment
anything.
