Don Martin:
I trust you are not surprised that you were kicked off even though you tried to behave yourself -- there is never any possibility of pleasing the truly paranoid.

Christina Fields:
Nah, I was waiting for it. Although, I did think it was a little rude for him to ban me and then make reply posts to my last messages which attacked me. There was no way I could respond. I guess I scared the crap out of him.

Don Martin:
Why, sho. He's a real "let women keep silence in church" kinda guy.

Christina Fields:
I found that out. I was really fired up to reply to his attacks, but Brian always tells me to cool off first. Luckily for him (Billy-Boy), that Brian's feed cut his access to the echo before I saw those messages. I would have really gone to town on him.

You know, I've seen his kind of "women keep silence in church" type of guy. Sad part is, these guys just don't realize that they take it to such extremes. I know of one couple in particular that I'm glad the woman is starting to stand up for herself. He took that "submit to your husband" thing way over the line.

And even more sad is that most of the women married to these guys accept it without question. I guess they think that is the way to go, get married and be degraded and demeaned by their god-fearing husbands and their church.

Don Martin:
Isn't it interesting that male gods tend to support the dominion of male persons over female ones? It's like the divine right of kings: those underneath may know the guy is a miserable blockhead who cannot think his way out of an outhouse, "but if his being in charge is what God wants, who am I to question it?"

Women may be marginally better off under Christian fundies than under Muslim ones, but only marginally. It is still under.
